Virginia Lee Martin, age 84 of Hesperia, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. Virginia was born on November 29, 1936 in Denver Township to Gerald and Mildred (Newville) Wilcox and graduated from Hesperia High School in 1954. Virginia has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area and had worked at Howmet in Whitehall as a finishing specialist for over 30 years until her retirement. Virginia enjoyed gambling, reading, crossword puzzles, watching crime shows and westerns on television, and was an animal lover. Virginia also enjoyed sewing and had sewn dresses and shirts for her children when they were growing up. Virginia truly cherished the time she spent with her family and following her grandchildren's sporting and school events. Virginia is survived by her children, Denise (Bill) Tinkham of Hesperia; Pat (Bill) Wallis of Hesperia; Bruce Towne of Hesperia; Tammy (John) Schneider of Kentwood; her grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Eaves; Randi (Jake) Doney; Jessica (Nic) Proctor; Carly Wallis; Lucas Schneider; Cristian Schneider; her great grandchildren, Morgan, Logan, Isaac, Mason, Avery, Jayce; her great great grandson, Owen; her best friend, Judy Kraus of Hesperia. Virginia was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Johnson and Barbara Cleveland; and her brother, Robert Wilcox.
