Virginia A. Smith, 94, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of White Cloud passed away March 25, 2019 in Sarasota, Florida. Virginia was born on February 19, 1925 in White Cloud to Stanley J. and Edna Mae (Brawner) Thompson and owned and operated Foster's Bakery in White Cloud, Michigan from 1960 until 1965. Virginia later became a LPN and moved to Florida in 1973 and then retired from Doctors Hospital in 1975. She was an active member of the St. Thomas More Parish in Sarasota, Florida.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Mary R. Foster of Sarasota, Florida; her son, Rick (Shelby) (Hoppa) Foster of White Cloud; daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Champion) Foster of White Cloud; 8 Grandchildren; 23 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-Great grandchildren; sisters Betty Colston and Norita Cooley; brothers, Stanley "Bud" Thompson, Jr. and Francis "Sonny" (Debra Confer) Thompson.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn J. Smith in 1996; her son, Roger D. Foster in 2016; daughter-in-law, Annie Foster in 2008; her parents Stanley & Edna (Brawner) Thompson; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Margie (Donald) Auw; Bernie (Howard) Thumser; sister-in-law, Betty (Groner) Thompson;, and brothers-in-law, Gene Colston and Lloyd Cooley.
MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11am at the Christ Lutheran Church 701 S Evergreen White Cloud MI 49349. With interment in the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Christ Lutheran Church for memorial contributions in memory of Virginia.
