Vivian Payne Vivian F. "Tiny" Payne, age 72 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2000 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. She was born on April 20, 1926 in Scottsburrough, Alabama to Frank and Emma (Fields) Sampson and later moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. She was later united to Andrew J. Payne Sr. in 1957. She had owned and operated a grocery store in Ecorse and Wyandotte for many years until her retirement. She has been a resident of the White Cloud area for the past 10 years where she was a member of the White Cloud Empowerment Center Church of God in Christ. Vivian is survived by six (6) children, JoAnn Harrison of Knoxville, TN; Edward (Marty) Weigel of Knoxville, TN; Joseph (Sandy) Weigel of Knoxville, TN; Richard Weigel of Athens, Georgia; Andrew J. (Margaret) Payne Jr. of Rockwood, MI; Rhonda (Minister Donald) Barnett of White Cloud; stepchildren, William (Sandy) Payne of Medena, Ohio; Louise (Roger) Jachim of Westland, MI; 12 grandchildren, Kim Riggs, Wendy Cameron, Kevin Payne, Karra Lamb, Krista Morris, Laura Pearson, Wesley Weigel, Kris Weigel, Angie Nichols, Geoffrey Zaire, and Donald J. Payne-Barnett; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Thurman Sampson of Scottsburrough, AL; special friends, Virginia and Clyde Baldridge; Betty Martinez; Lera Jackson; Duane Winters. Her husband, Andrew Payne Sr., 1 brother, Mason and 1 sister, Francis, 1 grandson, Kenneth Parigin Jr, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 19, 2000 from the White Cloud Empowerment Center Church of God in Christ with Superintendent Robert E. Smith presiding with interment in the Michigan Memorial Park in Rockwood, Michigan. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud.
