Obituary

Coburn, W. Louise W. Louise Coburn, age 86 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2005 at her home. Louise was born on December 28, 1918 in Fremont to William Daniel and Florence Margaret (Page) Smith and graduated from Fremont High School in 1936 and then attended Howells School of Business in Muskegon. She joined the United States Navy where she was a WAVE from 1943 until 1945 as a Storekeeper 2nd Class. On March 4, 1949, she married Frank Henry Coburn in Fremont. Frank preceded her in death on December 18, 1997. After her service in the Navy, she returned to Michigan and lived in St. Ignace where she was a secretary for the Mackinaw Bridge Authority in during the construction of the Mackinaw Bridge until its completion. She then returned to Fremont and continued her work at Gerber Products Company until her retirement on December 31, 1980. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, Frank and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her sister, Maxine (Paul) Johnson of Fremont; her nieces, Jan (Ferguson) (Cecil R.) Burch of LeRoy, Michigan; Mary Louise (Robert) Robillard of St. Petersburg, Florida; Patricia Johnson of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1997; by her daughter, Danette Ann Coburn in 1964; and by her sister, Dorothy Ferguson. Funeral service were held on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. David Dickinson of the Fremont Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital for memorial contributions in memory of Louise.
