Walter Frederick Ungermann, age 85 of Hesperia, formerly of East Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home. Walter was born on November 13, 1926 in Detroit and later moved to the Grand Rapids area where he had worked as an engineer at American Seating for several years until his retirement. Walter had enjoyed hunting, the Michigan wildlife and golfing. Walter is survived by his son, John (Dierdre Hamp) Ungermann of Hesperia; his grandson, Eric John Ungermann of Hesperia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan. Friends may consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan, Newaygo County for memorial contributions in memory of Walter.
