Obituary

Vanderwall, Walter L. Walter L. Vanderwall, age72 of Fremont, passed away Saturday in Fremont. Walt was born on August 30, 1933 in Lodgepole, South Dakota to Harry and Helena (Buren) Vanderwall and married Marilyn L. Homan on June 1, 1955 in Fremont. Marilyn preceded him in death on March 1, 2004. He had been a bus driver for the Fremont Public Schools for many years and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. He also served in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his children, Cathy (Roger) Haywood of Fremont; James Vanderwall of Fremont; and Mary Lynn Perrigo of Hesperia; his grandchildren, Ryan Wolford (Kristy Burgess); Matt Haywood; Jennifer Vanderwall; James Walter Vanderwall; Chris Armstrong; Cody Armstrong; and Cade Vanderwall Armstrong; great-grandchild, Liem Ethan Stark; his sisters, Josephine Vanderwall of Fremont; Evelyn DeBoer of Fremont; Anita Meeuwenberg of Fremont; and Edith (Lewis) Deters of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Margaret Vanderwall of Fremont,; Joyce Vanderwall of Dredsen, Ontario, Canada; Norma (Alvin) Luchies of Fremont; Betty (Alvin) Frens of Fremont; Carol Canniff of Fremont; and Joyce (Robert) Geeting of Fremont; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Marian) Homan of Fremont; Leon (Louise) Homan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Larry (Kathy) Homan of Fremont; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his great-granddaughter, Faith Unity Stark; brothers, Seymour Vanderwall and Albert Vanderwall; sisters, Norma Knoll and Lillian Vanderwall; and brothers-in-law, Garrett DeBoer and Chris Meeuwenberg. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, from the First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Rev. Mark Bennink of the First Christian Reformed Church presiding with interment and military rites given at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
