Walter Louis Washburn Sr., age 74 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home following a short illness. Walter was born on January 19, 1944 in Grant to Orville and Mildred (Harper) Washburn and grew up in the Grant area. Walter started driving trucks at age 14 and had been a truck driver for over 50 years. Walter had worked for Lincoln Nursery/VanEerden for several years until his retirement. Walter enjoyed truck driving, listening to older country music, complaining and argueing with Deb, gardening and working in his yard, and visiting with family and friends. Walter is survived by his children, Debora (Scott Stevens) Ditlow of Big Rapids; Walter "Bubba" (Renae) Washburn Jr. of White Cloud; Beck (Rodger) Aishe of White Cloud; Charles (Erin) Washburn of White Cloud; Holly (Eric) McDaniel of Fremont; son-in-law, Roy Ditlow;26 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his sister, Bernice Schutter of Ravenna; his brother, Orville "Butch" Washburn of Muskegon; special friends, Diane Ackerman, Kathy Foster and Archie Harring. Walter was preceded in death by his 3 grandchildren, Melissa Perez, Andrew Washburn, and Mathew Ditlow; his brothers and sisters, Junior, Buck, Jay, Robert, Bernard, Jack, Jerry, Kenneth, Bobby, Orlene, Tootie, Gilda. VISITATION : Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 11-1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Saturday at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel.
