Wanda Rae Brannam, age 83 of Holton, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Mercy Health Partners – Mercy Campus in Muskegon. Wanda was born on June 8, 1937 in Muskegon to Raymond and Mereta (Hendrickson) Cregg and has been a lifelong resident of the Holton area. Wanda graduated from Holton High School and later graduated from Western Michigan University with a teaching degree. She started her teaching career while she was still in college, teaching at County Normal in Muskegon County and then taught 1st and 2nd grade at Twin Lake and later retired in 1991 from Reeths Puffer Schools after 33 years. Wanda was a active member of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church where she had been involved with Women's Circle and had served as secretary and had taught Sunday school and had been involved in Bible School. Wanda was an avid reader and donated many books to the Holton Library after reading them. Wanda is survived by her children, Michele (Rick) Beeman of Holton, Tim (Melonie) Brannam of Holland, Todd (Sue) Brannam of Holton, and Debbie Swartz of Muskegon; her son-in-law, Brian Cygeirt of Holton; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her sister, Nancy VanPatten of Holton. Wanda was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Ann Cygeirt on October 1, 2020 and by her parents, Raymond and Mereta Cregg. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1pm at the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church. Face coverings will be required during the Memorial Services at the church. Friends may choose to listen to the Memorial Services live via radio broadcasting on their car radios in the church parking lot on the day of the services by tuning their radios to 99.9 starting 5 minutes prior to the services. INTERMENT : In the spring at the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church in memory of Wanda.
