Wanda F. Cushman, age 52 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Wanda was born on July 26, 1963 in Grand Rapids to George and Lottie B. (Combs) Gaunt and grew up in Kent City and later graduated from Fremont High School. Wanda met and later married Ernie Cushman on June 16, 1984 in Kent City. Wanda has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 30 years where she had been a homemaker and enjoyed playing Bingo, gaming, going to yard sales, her dogs and cats and always had an open door in her kitchen for anyone needing a meal. Wanda especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Wanda is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ernie of Fremont; her children, Jason Cushman (Heather Maat) of Fremont; Amanda Cushman (Korry Bogue) of Fremont; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zoey, Jason Jr., Anthony, Adrianna, Charles and Levi; her father, George Gaunt of Kent City; her sister, Cheryl (John) Scheer of Grand Rapids; her brother-in-law, Bob Hiatt of Greenville; several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Gaunt on August 4, 2010 and her sister, Patsy Hiatt on April 22, 2015. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2pm at the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church 6655 Marvin Rd, Holton, MI 49425 with a time of visitation 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
