Hindes, Wayne Franklyn Palm Harbor, Florida Formerly of Fremont Wayne Franklyn Hindes, age 89, of Palm Harbor, Florida formerly of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 in Florida. Wayne was a loving gentle man who adored his wife Gladys of 66 years and delighted in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was born on February 25, 1916 in Fremont and greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends throughout Michigan. Wayne was an avid golfer and bridge player. He was a former member of Fremont United Methodist Church, Fremont Lions Club, Elks, Masons, Fremont Ramshorn Country Club, and Briar Hill Golf Course. He had worked as a superintendent of shipping Continental Motors Corporation in Muskegon until his retirement in 1975. Wayne served in the United States Navy from 1943 1945 in the Pacific during World War II. In 1993, he and Gladys retired to Florida where Wayne was involved in many activities including membership at Palm Harbor United Methodist Church, Highland Lakes Association, Highland Lakes Mens Golf League and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. Survivors include his wife Gladys, and three living children, Van (Leslie) of Niwot, Colorado; Laska Creagh (Keith) of Williamston, Michigan; and Hal (Carol) Hindes of Fremont, California; five loving grandchildren, Jed, Mariah, Reiley, Maggi, and Britany; two sisters, Norma Tierman of North Muskegon and Marian Cushing of Ann Arbor. His daughter, Sandra Lynn Hindes, preceded him in death in 1960 Funeral Memorial Services were held on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel with a time of sharing with the family from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
