Wayne A. Johnson, age 80 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his home. Wayne was born on April 23, 1933 in Muskegon to Carl L. and Ada M. (Hughey) Johnson and soon joined the United States Army where served for over 22 years. After his discharge, Wayne moved back to Michigan but could not find employment and moved to Georgia where he worked as a mechanic for Bill Heard Automotive for 24 years until his retirement in 1995 when he and his wife, Leni moved back to White Cloud. Wayne married Leni Hild on December 21, 1973 in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas and Leni preceded Wayne in death on April 6, 2012. Wayne enjoyed being an auto mechanic and tinkering in his garage working on engines or working with wood, making bird houses and bird feeders. Wayne had enjoyed hunting with his brothers and fishing at Crepin Lake as well. Wayne also enjoyed making cakes for his family and church family. He was a member of the Freedom Bible Church in Fremont. Wayne is survived by his sons, Wayne Johnson Jr. of Shelby; John (Wendi) Johnson of Bonaire, Georgia; his stepson Gene (Sherrill) Stamps of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Walter (Jenny) Stamps, Erica (Cory) Johnson, Bradley (Lex) Johnson, and Amy Johnson; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Mason, Patrick, Megan, Blake and Danielle; his brothers, Russell (Phyllis) Johnson of Montague; David (Iva) Johnson of Wyoming; his sister, Pamela Johnson of Tucson, Arizona; several nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, William Bill Johnson; his sisters and brothers, Artie Johnson; Donna Grodstien, Robert Johnson and Roger Johnson.
