Obituary

Mr. Wayne Lynn Parks, age 77, passed away Tuesday evening, July 31, 2001 at his home. He was born in Gratiot County, Newark Twp. on May 13, 1924, the son of Henry Lynn and Eva Alice (Helman) Parks. After serving his country in the US Navy during WW II, Wayne married the former Ruth McCartney and together they had two daughters, Kathy (David) Fisk of Cedar Springs and Mikalee (Dale) McCastle of Fremont; 5 grandchildren, Kristin (T.Gary) Benson; Kelly (Shawn) Walker; Keven (Carla Schelske) McCastle all of Fremont; Kerry (Christian) Girman of PA; Timothy Bont of Grand Rapids; 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Dale (Doris) Parks of Ithaca, MI; Cleo (Judy) Parks of Eaton Rapids ; Lynn (Doris) Parks of Kingsley; 1 sister, Katherine (Jerry) LaLonde of St. Louis, MI; 1 sister-in-law, Donnavere (Robert) Wilms of Clearwater, FL; 3 brothers-in-law, Mike Rokos of CA; Robert (Marilyn) McCartney & William Wright of Muskegon; 5 sisters-in-law, Judy (Carl A.) Rosenberg; Janice (Tony Sr.) Nanna; Jill (Charles) Stevens all of Muskegon; Fran McCartney & Joan Ashley (Jerry Reilly) of Kalamzoo; many nieces and nephews and a host of treasured friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Clarence Parks; brothers-in-law, William McCartney; David McCartney; sisters-in-law, Mary Rokos; Anne Wright & Jayne Lambert and 2 infant granddaughters. Wayne resided in Muskegon for many years and retired as a truck driver for Roadway Express and was also a volunteer firefighter for Muskegon Township #1. Waynes family would like to give their deepest thanks to all the wonderful care given in Waynes time of need "especially Mary Ann" and respite friends "Jerry" Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 2, 2001 from the Cranedell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont with Rev. Julie Amour of Unity Church in Muskegon presiding. Interment was in the Jewell Cemetery in Fremont.
