Wayne Elliott Sampson, age 69 of Holton, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the Trinity Health – Mercy Hospital in Muskegon.  Wayne was born on August 1, 1954 in Lansing, Michigan to Etrel Winstead and Anna Flossie (Fuller) Sampson and grew up in the Morrice, Michigan area.  Wayne met and later married Kathryn Douglas on June 28, 1981 in Morrice, Michigan and they moved to the Holton area in 1996 from Morrice.  Wayne had been a construction worker with Sanders Construction for many years, but also had been a mechanic and welder in his spare time throughout the years.  Wayne enjoyed fishing and being in the Michigan outdoors, working on cars, but he truly enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathryn; his children, Joshua (Brittany) Fulton of Holton; Amanda (Jason) Garrow of Holton; Kari Sampson of Holton; Melissa (Rob James) Johnston of Cowgill, Missouri; Barbara (Joshua Taylor) Wood of Zeeland; Robert Sampson of Holton; 25 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Sue, Janice, Bruce, Ron, Norma and Christine; many extended family and friends including Barb (Tommy) McMillan.  Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Sampson; his grandchildren, Alyssa Fulton, MacKenzie Kay Sampson-Stafford, Bryce Garrow; his parents, Etrel and Anna Sampson; 4 brothers and sisters.

A time of gathering and celebration of Wayne's life will be held on July 6, 2024 at the family home.  Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Wayne E.
