Wayne G. Smith, age 74, of Newaygo, Passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011, at Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Wayne was born on December 22, 1936, to Forrest Allan and Catherine Margaret (Gillies) Smith and married Sue Ellen LaVigne on October 17, 1964, in Hamler, Ohio. Wayne received his Bachelors Degree from Ferris State University and was a clerk at Plumbs Grocery in Newaygo. Wayne was member of the First Baptist Church in Newaygo Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Sue; children, Robin (Robert) Crevier of Fremont and Richard (Rebecca) Smith of Fairbanks, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, Ainsley, McKenna, and Braeden; brother, Dr. Stanley Smith of Okemos; brother-in-law, Thomas (Angie) LaVigne of Hamler, Ohio; and mother-in-law, Norma LaVigne of Hamler Ohio. A celebration of Waynes life will be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, November 12, 2011, from the First Baptist Church in Newaygo with Pastor Mark Holeman and Pastor Wes Smith officiating. There will be visitation and time to greet the family one hour prior to the service at the Church. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the First Baptist Church in Newaygo.
