Wayne E. Thompson, age 80 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids. Wayne was born on October 4, 1940 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to John L. and Doris E. (Young) Thompson. Wayne graduated from Notre Dame University with a Bachelor's Degree in History and returned to the Grand Rapids area. Wayne started spending time in the White Cloud area at an early age and moved to the area on a permanent basis in 1992 from Grand Rapids. Wayne became a realtor in 1988 and founded RE/MAX River Valley in 2008 which he currently still co owned and operated and continued to be active in real estate sales. Wayne was an active member of the Fremont Rotary Club, had been a member of the Kiwanis, former board member at Gerber Memorial Hospital, Life Member of the Safari Club and was avid hunter. Wayne had served in the United States Navy where he was honorably discharges as a Lieutenant. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. Wayne is survived by his sister-in-law, Sandee Thompson of Texas and many cousins and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Thompson and by his sister, Alice Arwezon. A PRIVATE Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud with interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in White Cloud. A Public CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at a later date and information will be posted to this web page when these services are finalized and arranged.
