Wendy Jean Laisure, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Fremont, Michigan. Born on September 30, 1949, in Fremont, Wendy's journey through life was marked by love, devotion, and a passion for family.

Wendy dedicated many years as a cashier at Leppinks in Newaygo, known for her warm smile and friendly demeanor. Her life was enriched by her love of sewing and the joy she found in "Junkin'," a pastime she fondly referred to as shopping. Above all, Wendy cherished spending time with her family, creating a close-knit and loving home for those she held dear. Her heart was open to everyone, and her laughter and warmth will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Tammy (Art) Neuman and Bobbi (Sofio) Sostenes, as well as her cherished son-in-law Jim Filipiak. Her legacy lives on through her 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Ruth Lucas, Carolyn Carpenter, Rex (Judy) Botsford, Connie Botsford, and Lloyd (Vickii) Botsford. Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Eleanor Botsford, her daughter, Terri Filipiak, and her granddaughter, Ashley Filipiak.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Wendy’s memory and the beautiful life she led. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
