Whetsel "JR" J. Harrington, age 72, of White Cloud passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Mercy Health Partners - Mercy Campus. JR was born on May 28, 1944, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to Bill and Melinda (Justice) Harrington and was a coal miner in Kentucky in his younger years. He later retired from the Chrysler Corporation. JR enjoyed bluegrass music and played guitar in various bands in the area. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. JR is survived by nieces and nephews, Amanda Harrington, James Harrington, William (Christina) Harrington, and Melinda (Michael) Adams; great nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Zachary, Avery, Skye, and Adam; brother, Albert (Betty) Harrington; sister, Mag Hansen; and girlfriend, Deb Higgins. He was preceded by his brother, David Harrington. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud. There will be visitation 2 hours prior to the service (12 - 2 PM). Interment will be in Kentucky. Friends may share memories and condolences online at www.crandellfh.com.
