Dow, Wilfred A. Wilferd A. Dow, age 79 of Fremont , passed away Thursday, November 28, 2002 at the Heartland Nursing Center in Whitehall . He was born on November 1, 1923 in Muskegon to Joseph A. and Mary Jane (Sequin) Dow and married Rowene Proctor on December 14, 1946 in Hesperia. Rowene preceded him in death on July 5, 1993 . Wilferd has been a lifelong resident of the area where he had been a production worker at Gerber Products Company until his retirement and was also a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church . He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army and was a member of the Fremont V.F.W. Laurels Post 6898. He is survived by his children, Arlene Steedman of Fremont; Eileen (Joe) Acosta of Newaygo; Larry Dow of Swanton, Ohio; Thomas Dow of Mobile, Alabama; Kenneth Dow of Fremont; William Dow of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren. He was preceded by his sisters, Elsie Mae Anderson and Mary Jane Stroven and a brother, Robert Daoust. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Dan Duncan of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding.
