Obituary

William (Bill) Aishe passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025 after a life made rich by family and friends.  Bill was born on February 27, 1940.  In his 85 years on this earth, Bill raised a family, owned a local carpet business – A&B Floor Covering, enjoyed hunting and fishing (especially fishing), and made lots and lots of friendships wherever he went.  During his retirement years, he loved doing so many things with his wife, Maxine.  They fished together, traveled to visit friends, enjoyed a beer while sitting on their porch watching the birds and deer, and just simply enjoyed being outdoors.

If you yet haven't gotten the idea that Bill liked fishing…It was one of his favorite things to do!  For so many years, if he wasn't talking about fishing or making spawn bags or showing off pictures of fish he's caught in the past, he was making plans of where to fish next. He had an uncanny ability to show off a fish picture (only fish mind you) from the past and remember where he caught them and who he was with.  He had some great stories to tell and enjoyed the sport with so many friends with whom became "family" within a short time of knowing them.

Bill was a family man.  He was a devoted husband, a great dad and even better grandpa!  He thoroughly enjoyed spoiling his granddaughters.  He loved it when they were around.  He loved watching Rylann play softball, enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Farkel with Rachel, and has enjoyed some fishing time with Paula.  Most times, his schedule worked around when the Tiger games were on TV.  He didn't miss watching many of their games. Bill was also known for making the best homemade venison jerky and sausage, and at Christmas time, his peanut brittle was always requested.

Bill was married to Maxine for nearly 59 years. They married on April 16, 1966.  Together, they made so many wonderful memories and raised their children with an enormous amount of love. Bill and Maxine shared many trying and amazing experiences together over those 59+ years that only strengthened their love for each other.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Maxine, his parents Jacob and Clystia Aishe, brother Joseph, and his closest friends whom he considered family, Monty and Sue Doornbos. He is leaving behind his daughter Jodie (Mark) McGarry, son Rodger (Becky) Aishe, chosen daughter Monica (Travis) DeHoop, grandchildren Rylann and Rachel Aishe and Paula (Marcus) Hunter, sisters Pat Aishe and Darlene Bitely and brother Ben (Sharon) Aishe.  He is also leaving behind his loving sister-in-law Barb (Dennis) Baker and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a one-of-a-kind kind of guy and he will be sadly missed but never absent from our hearts.
