Obituary

William Phillip Annis, age 68 of Fremont, passed away Friday at home following a short illness. He was born on January 1, 1932, in Puyallup, Washington to Phillip Ezra and Illa Mae (Handy) Annis and married Maxine DeLong on April 19, 1952 in Muskegon. He was a quality control supervisor at Gerber Products Company, a veteran of the Korean War, and member of the Hesperia United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife Maxine of Fremont; 4 children, Teresa (Phillip) DeKok of Stewartville, Minnesota, Suzanne (Tom) Wise of Nelson, Nebraska, William (Lisa) Annis Jr. of Ravenna, and Patricia (Kent) Klomp of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; brothers James (Barbara) Annis of Hesperia, Michael (Beverly) Annis of Muskegon, and Jack (Marilyn) Annis of Wisconsin; sisters Betty (Kenneth) Baker of Hesperia and Dorothy (Wayne) Gibbs of Twin Lake; and sister-in-law Ruth Annis of Hesperia. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers John and Thomas Annis and grandson Burton DeKok. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2000, at the Hesperia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad Brillhart officiating with interment in East Hesperia Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the Hesperia United Methodist Church Parsonage Fund or the Fremont Area Foundation for Hospice of Newaygo County.
