William C. Anderson, age 89 of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Trinity Health Mercy Campus in Muskegon. William was born on May 27, 1934 in Oceana County to Carl and Alice (Alexander) Anderson and grew up in the Hesperia area. Bill has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area and had worked as a millwright at Howmet in Whitehall for 25 years until his retirement. Bill married Joyce Blohm on September 26, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 2012. Bill later married Betty Lichner on November 2, 2012. Bill was a member of the Hesperia United Methodist Church; had enjoyed coon and bear hunting; his blue tick hounds, and riding mules in his younger years. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty of Hesperia; his children, Laura Ralston of Hesperia; Doug (Sandy) Anderson of Reed City; Ruth (Dean) Havelka of Gladwin; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; he was loved by his step children; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; his sisters and brother, Jim (Nancy) Anderson of Shelby; Karen Peters; Penny (Russell) Jones of Shelby; Mary Austgen of New Era; several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Carl Anderson; his sisters, Marlene McDonald; Marie Fisk.
