Halbower, William Frank William Frank Halbower, age 79 of Holton, passed away Friday morning at his home. Bill was born on May 16, 1926 in Muskegon to Karl O. and Eupha (Patterson) Halbower and moved the Holton area in 1949 from Muskegon. He had been a production worker at Campbell Wyant Cannon in Muskegon for several years until his retirement in 1985. Bill was a member of the Cornerstone Free Methodist Church in Holton. He also served in the United States Navy during WW II in the Pacific aboard the battleship Missouri and was a member of the Muskegon VFW William J. Beal Post #446. He is survived by his wife, Marion Elisabeth (Syers) Halbower of Montague; his children, Lisa (Stan) Bush of Montague; Lee Ann Halbower of Montague; William (Nancy) Halbower of Holton; 4 grandchildren, Billy Halbower, Ben Halbower, Elizabeth Janusiewicz, Maren Janusiewicz; his sister, Dorothy Brown of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karlyn Kay in 1951; his sister, Catherine Gotts and brothers, Byron and Norman Halbower. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from the Cornerstone Free Methodist Church in Holton with Pastor David Gruber presiding with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Friends may consider the Cornerstone Free Methodist Church or the William F. Halbower Memorial Fund for Holton Public Schools for memorial contribution in memory of Bill.
