William C. Bill Red Stevens, age 94 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Bill was born on September 9, 1919 in Muskegon and to Clarence and Lillian (Cummins) Stevens. Bill was raised by Alfred and Lillian (Cummins) Kibble and later met and married Elaine Blohm on January 18, 1936 in Muskegon. Bill and Elaine had been married for 70 years until Elaine passed away on October 19, 2007. Bill had been an engine tester at Continental Motors for 44 years until his retirement and had also been a constable in Blue Lake Township for several years. Bill had served in the Michigan State Troops from 1944 until 1947. Bill enjoyed riding motorcycles where he rode into his 70s and was one of the original members of the Muskegon Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club and had also been active in the West Michigan Tour Riders Motorcycle Club. Bill had also been an avid fisherman and deer hunter and he and Elaine had traveled the country full time RVing for 14 years. Bill was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church. Bill is survived by his children, Wayne (Gay) Stevens of Oregon; Kenneth (Maritta) Stevens of Muskegon; Judy (Scott) Revell of Holton; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his sisters, Reta Lane of Texas; several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Max Stevens; his grandson, Kevin Stevens; his brothers and sister, Ray, Ralph, Lillian and Jay. Graveside memorial services will be held in August at the Batchelor Cemetery in Fountain Michigan following cremation.
