William Richard Hornof Sr., age 83 of Twin Lake, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Mercy Health Partners Mercy Sherman Campus in Muskegon following a short illness. Bill was born on October 23, 1937 in North Chicago, Illinois to William Clarence and Edith (Novak) Hornof and later married Amy Higgins on February 5, 1957 in Chicago. Bill moved to the Holton/Twin Lake Area in 1980 from Chicago and had been a mechanic for the Holton Public Schools Transportation Department for over 20 years until his retirement. Bill was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church where he enjoyed volunteering his time on projects and being involved in the Holton United Methodist Church Men's Group. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Amy of Twin Lake; his children, Robert (Barbara) Hornof of Fremont; William Hornof Jr. of Chicago; Tom (Christine) Hornof of Indiana; Ron Hornof of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Bernice Hornof. A Celebration of Life Service will be held later in the summer of 2021following Bill's wishes for cremation.
