William O. Romans Jr., age 79, of Hesperia, passed away on April 28, 2011, at his home in Hesperia with his family by his side, after an extended battle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1931, in Mead, West Virginia, to William Oscar and Margaret (Bowman) Romans Sr. and married Gloria Blanchette on October 1, 1983, at the family home. Bill was a proud Navy Veteran and retired from Campbell, Wyant, and Cannon in Muskegon. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, and time with his family. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Gloria; children, Ronnie (Darlene) Romans of Hesperia, William (Brenda) Romans III of Hesperia, Randy Romans of South Boardman, MI, Cheryl Romans of Allegan; step-children, Julia Abel of Muskegon, Jeanie (Rodney) Forton of Twin Lake, and Jamie (Manuel) Sahagun of Twin Lake; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ruth (Bill) Friend of Muskegon and Stella Johnson of Fruitport; and his dog and special buddy baby girl. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011, from 6-8 PM, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home, with interment and military rites following at West Hesperia Cemetery.
