William "Bill" Stellard, age 73 of Fremont, beloved husband of Clara May, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Bill was born on May 26, 1928 in Grand Rapids to Peter Cornelius and Eva Cornelia (Dekker) Stellard and married Clara Mae Combs on March 11, 1971 in Grant, Michigan. Bill had been a tool and die maker at the Alofs Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids for many years until his retirement in 1985. He has been a resident of the Newaygo County area for over 30 years and enjoyed woodworking and cooking. He was also a member of the Sportsmans Club in Newaygo. He is survived by his wife, Clara May of Fremont; his children, Ronald E. & Mary K. Stellard of Bath, Michigan and their children, Season & Michael Stellard; Linda (Stellard) & Wayne VanderJagt of Rockford and their children, Erin & Amber VanderJagt; Ronda L. & Luke VanDop of White Cloud and their children, Maranda Hess and Rebecca (Bryan) Gerth; Sharon (Stellard) & Bruce Duimstra of Hudsonville and their children, Justin & Joel Duimstra; David L. Harrington of Grant and his children, Christina & Jamie Harrington; Joni K. & Steven P. Crandle of Grant and their children, Nicholas, Shawn & Ashley Crandle; Daniel S. and Karen L. Harrington of Fremont and their children, Amanda & Andrew Maki, Mary & Daniel Harrington; brother, Peter (Irene) Stellard of Allendale; sisters, Anna Peterson of Wyoming, MI; Ruth (Bob) Mersman of Grandville; several nieces and nephews, many brothers and sisters-in-laws. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 7, 2001 from the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Rev. Vern VanDerWerff presiding with cremation following the services.
