William Bill Thomas Hawkins Jr., age 65 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 16, 2004 at his home following a short illness. Bill was born on January 12, 1939 in Muskegon to William Thomas and Nettie (Battenfield) Hawkins Sr. and later married Janet Bolt on September 4, 1959 in Muskegon. He was a graduate of Whitehall High School and had been a mechanical draftsman at Gerber Products Company for over 30 years until his retirement. Bill enjoyed fishing, had been on the fire brigade at Gerber Products Company and had been a bible teacher at various churches in the area for many years. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet of Fremont; his children, Beth Ann (Gary) Hooker of Fremont; Rev. William Thomas (Wanda) Hawkins III of Stephentown, New York; his grandchildren, Melissa Hooker and David Hooker of Fremont; Cassie Gilliland of Fremont; Ashley Hawkins of New York; Stephanie Hawkins of New York. Funeral memorial services were held on Friday, November 19, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. William Thomas Hawkins, III presiding with interment of the cremated remains in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
