Anderson, Willie James Willie James Anderson, age 57, of Fremont passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon following a short illness. He was born on July 31, 1944, in Helena, Arkansas to Duncan and Luleaner (Willis) Anderson and married Katie Mae Kelly. He was a plant operator at Sappi Fine Paper in Muskegon for the last 18 years and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Willie leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Luleaner Anderson of Kalamazoo; daughter, Valerie Anderson Tate of Muskegon; son, Willie Anderson Jr. of Grand haven; stepchildren, Richy Walker, Michael Walker, Stephine Walker, David Kelly, and Catherine (Penn) Kelly; granddaughter, Brietta Carmen Tate all of Kalamazoo; brothers, Roy Anderson, Swinoil Armstrong, and Duncan Anderson Jr., all of Kalamazoo; sisters, Mildred Coleman, Odie Beatrice, and Mary Lois Anderson, all of Kalamazoo; a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Mae Kelly Anderson in 1996; his father, Duncan; brothers, Otis Anderson, Roger Anderson, and Nathaniel Anderson; and by his sister Diann Valentine. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 11, 2002, from the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Rev. Jeffrey Murchison of the Glory House Glory of the Latter House Ministries presiding with military graveside service under the direction of the Holton American Legion Cobb Anderson Trygstad Post #397.
