Wilma J. Peterlein, age 83 of Newaygo, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Wilma was born on October 20, 1928 in Grand Rapids to Ira and Myrtle Berry and later married Robert R. Peterlein on November 2, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Wilma has been a resident of the Newaygo area for the past 45 years where she had been a homemaker. Wilma had enjoyed cooking, reading and sewing and knitting in her younger years. Wilma is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert R. Peterlein of Newaygo; her children, Robert M. Peterlein of Newaygo; Richard A. Peterlein of Newaygo; Chuck (Deb) Peterlein of Grand Rapids; Theresa Peterlein of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren, Robert K. (Vanessa) Peterlein of Newaygo; Nicole (William) Hall of Newaygo; Scott (Rachel) Peterlein of Newaygo; Cheryl (Orvelio) Velasquez of Grand Rapids; Jason (April) Peterlein of Sparta; Dawn Peterlein of Texas; 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chuck Peterlein and by her brother, Ira Berry Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints 24 East Sheridan Street in Fremont.
