Wilmer Nelson "Sonny" "Willie" Combs Jr., age 81 of Bitely, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. Sonny was born on September 24, 1940 in Muskegon to Wilmer Nelson and Juanita Gladys (Ogle) Combs Sr.. Sonny joined the United States Navy at an early age and became and trained to be an electrician while serving in the Navy. After his discharge, Sonny started work at CWC Textron in Muskegon where he worked as an electrician until his retirement in 1996. Sonny married Doris Marie Wilson on April 30, 1966 and Doris preceded him in death on January 19, 1995. Sonny has been a resident of the Bitely area since 1970 and enjoyed the Michigan Outdoors – hunting and fishing; and watching boxing on television. Sonny is survived by his partner, Vivian Easter of Bitely; his children, Ruthann (Mike) Nicholson of Muskegon; Wilmer Nelson Combs III of Goose Creek, South Carolina; Anthony Combs of Muskegon; his grandchildren, Raven Combs, Alexis Combs, Zachary Combs, Anthony Combs Jr., Ethan Combs, DD Harford, Rachel Harford, John Harford; his great grandchildren, Zayliey Richards and many more great grandchildren; his brother, Fred (Jessica) Combs of Bertram, Texas. Sonny was preceded in death by his wife, Doris and by his parents, Wilmer and Juanita Combs Sr. VISITATION : Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 11-12pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412.
