Winnifred Winnie L. Westenfelder, age 91 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday evening at her home following a short illness. Winnie was born on March 15, 1924 in Petoskey, Michigan to Jess and Alice (Blowers) Fountain and later met and married Reginald Westenfelder on January 9, 1942 in Fremont. Reginald preceded her in death on March 14, 2001. Winnie has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 74 years where she was a dairy farmer and attended the Aetna Calvary Church. Winnie enjoyed flower gardening and feeding and watching the birds; had been active in the Newaygo County Farm Bureau, 4H and the American Guernsey Cattle Club; and enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. Winnie is survived by her daughters, Laura Davenport of Centerville, Georgia; Patty (Christopher) Tinnermon of Virginia; her grandchildren, David (Lori) Westenfelder; Danielle (David) Mihelac; Reggie (May) Davenport; Amy (Derek) Gautney; Christopher Tinnermon; Michael Tinnermon; several great grandchildren; her sister, Wanda Helderop of Barryton. She was preceded in death by her sons, David Westenfelder Sr. and Jim Westenfelder; her sisters, Alice Castle, Betty Schulte, and Edna Mancuso; her brother, Gordon Fountain. VISITATION : Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 2-5pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel and 1 hour prior to the funeral services at the church. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, July 27, 2015 at 1pm at the Aetna Calvary Church 3944 1 Mile Road White Cloud MI 49349. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Newaygo County Fair Association or Reginald and Winnifred Westenfelder Scholarship Fund to be established later with contributions being matched by the estate of Winnifred.
