Gladys L. Wylie Gladys Loraine Wylie, age 98, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at the Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. She was born on March 7, 1902 in Holton to Willis and Anna (Anderson) Pomeroy Jr. and married William Calvin Wylie on August 18, 1927 in Holton. William Calvin preceded her in death on May 15, 1988. She had been a homemaker and was the oldest living member of the Holton United Methodist Church. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Williamston Chapter O.E.S. #29, and had been active in the Magnolia Chapter O.E.S #70. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Leonard) Schalla of Santa Barbara, California; James H. (Rhua) Wylie of Lansing, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Youngs of Grant. She was preceded in death by three sisters. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 11, 2000 from the Holton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Bremer of the Holton United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Friends may consider the Fremont Area Foundation Endowment Fund for Newaygo County Hospice for memorial contributions.
