We should all be singing praises to God for bringing her Home to Glory but we as humans left here on earth are broken hearted..... The song by Mercy Me comes to mind. I can only imagine. We can only imagine what Yvonne is feeling right now in the Glory of God...... May God give all of you the strength to carry on through this enormous pain. Jayne...I can only imagine the pain you are feeling right now. The only thing I can do for you right now is to pray for God's strength for you and to be you're friend. I am here for you for what ever you need from me. I'm thankful that you are surrounded by your family and that Charlie was able to be home with you. One day at a time is all you need to do to make it through this difficult time. Much love to all of you. I will see you on Friday. Please don't hesitate to call if you need me before that. Marcia Posted 7/18/2007 Yvonne Sloan (Steele) is my cousin. Enough older than I that I looked up to her. I used to visit her house in the summer and spent time with her younger sisters but I always enjoyed listening and hearing stories she would tell of boyfriends, makeup, and all the stuff young women would talk about! I viewed her as a gal that always looked glamorous and had spunk. I visited with her in June of this year at the Denman reunion and she was still glamorous and had spunk even though she was thin and weaker than she wanted to be. I will miss her and her great spirit. I think of a verse inspired by Maya Angelou for the family..... Carry on. It is not easy, But it is what we have to do-- only we do not have to do it alone. I think that Yvonne would demand that we do carry on. Eloise Luyk Posted 7/18/2007 Jim, So sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Jerry Woodring Posted 7/18/2007 To the Sloan family, The Hatters of the Lakeshore loved Yvonne. She had such a gift for life, a ready laugh and smile that was infectious.
