Zane Raymond Jones, age 82 of Bridgeton, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 at his home following a short illness. Zane was born on April 4, 1941 in Bridgeton Township to James Raymond and Dolores (Harris) Jones and graduated from Fremont High School. Zane met and later married Myra Myrtle Parrott on December 24, 1960 in Fremont and Zane has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area. Zane had been a welder at CWC in Muskegon for several years until his retirement then began his 2nd career as a over the road truck driver and following this became the head of maintenance at Rose Lake Recreational Area in Osceola County until his final retirement. Zane enjoyed the Michigan outdoors, had been a woodworker and crafted miniature log cabins for family and friends, built doll cradles for his granddaughters. Zane had built the home he was living in currently from the ground up and was an over all handyman. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Bridgeton. Zane is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myra Myrtle; his daughters, Robin (Terry) Booth; Kitty Durham; daughter-in-law, Jody Jones; 18 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; his sister, Lavina (Pastor Tom) Force; several nieces and nephews. Zane was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Ann Jones; his son, Russell "Russ" R. Jones; his grandson, Derek Hooven; his granddaughter, Sammy Jones; his great granddaughter, Aubree Hamilton and his son-in-law, Glenn P. Durham Sr. GRAVESIDE SERVICES : Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery with Pastor Tom Force presiding.
