Bruce Edward Pope II, age 24 of Holton, Muskegon and formerly of Lake City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Corewell Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a brave 6 month battle with cancer. Bruce was born on November 24, 1999 in Bradenton, Florida to Bruce Edward and Georgia Marguerite (Cope) Pope Sr.. Bruce moved to the Muskegon area in 2012 from Lake City, Florida and enjoyed fishing, video gaming, and watching comedies on television, especially I Love Lucy. His stepfather had memories of Bruce being easy to talk to, likeable and enjoyed the time they spent together.
Bruce is survived by his mother, Georgia (Daniel) Schooley of Holton; his step brothers and sisters, Bradley Schooley, Brooke (Josh) Ehrke; Kevin (fiancé, Ceara) Schooley; his best friend growing up in Florida, Carol Ann Hall; his grandparents, Doug and Vickie Cope; Judy Schooley; Edythe and Al Langenheim; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Pope Sr..
A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held in the summer of 2024 in Holton and later in Florida where Bruce will be laid to rest next to his father, Bruce.
