Candace Hicks Obituary
Candace Elizabeth Hicks, age 76 of Hesperia, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont following a lingering illness with Alzheimer’s Dementia. Candace was born on March 26, 1943 in Muskegon to Roy and Charlotte (Pulsipher) McCann Sr. and has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area where she was a homemaker. Candace enjoyed playing Bingo, hunting and being in the Michigan outdoors all her life, singing karaoke, bonfires with family and friends, loved animals, playing cards; camping, dancing and riding horses in her younger years.
Candace is survived by her children, Donald (Laura) Hard of Morley; Rex (Suzanne) Hard of Norton Shores; Tonya (Todd Franks) Hard of Muskegon; Cindy Whitmore of Norton Shores; Clifford Hicks Jr. of Hesperia; Candy (Germaine) Schaub of St. Johns, Michigan; Joshua (Kaelyn Griffes) Hicks of South Bend, Indiana; Tosha Hicks of Muskegon; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Sandy Sorenson; Royette (Norm) Bayle; Roy (Barb) McCann; Cindy Standoff; Richard McCann; Jeff McCann; Penny Davila; Shelly Burns; many nieces and nephews. Candace was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lindsey Hard; and her sisters, Sherry Waldron and Kristi Castle.
A time of remembrance and memorial luncheon will be held at the Hesperia American Legion with the date and time to be determined following Candace’s wishes for cremation. Friends may consider Lake Haven Rescue 551 Pickeral Lake Drive Newaygo MI 49337.
