Dorothy Cross Obituary

Dorothy G. Cross, age 84 of Newaygo, passed away peacefully at the Metron Nursing Center in Big Rapids on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Dorothy was born on August 14, 1935 in Mt. Royal, New Jersey to Henry and Amelia (Ulmer) Weaver and later married William Cross II on August 14, 1982 in New Port Richey, Florida. Dorothy moved to the Newaygo area in 2009 from Arkansas and had been an elder care provider for several years. She was a longtime member of the Church of God, enjoyed going out to eat, taking naps, playing Yahtzee and loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Cross II of Newaygo; her son and daughters, William “Bill” (Delores) Cross III of Baldwin; Cheryl (Richard) Plotts of White Cloud; Terry Lee Cross of Newaygo; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Cross.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11am at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery near White Cloud with Pastor Ryan Shrable of the Big Jackson Church of God presiding. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Big Jackson Church of God in memory of Dorothy.
