Lindy Grunow Obituary
Lindy Michelle Grunow, 58, of Fremont Michigan, passed away peacefully in her home on March 18th, 2023. Lindy Grunow was a strong, bold, kind, and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. Her family is excited that Jesus walked with her to the gates of Heaven and she heard him say “Well done, good and faithful servant”. They are also thrilled that she gets to have some one on one time with her father Melvin Burns Sr. because coming from a family of 7 siblings that was an impossible feat here on earth.
Lindy was born on June 21st, 1964 to Melvin & Judy Burns in Nuremberg Germany and graduated from Sparta High School in 1982.
In 2002 Lindy began her career at Grand Valley State University in Facilities Services and served the Union in many roles including Union Vice-President. Lindy not only professionally served GVSU but served personally. She developed deep relationships with her co-workers and became the surrogate mom to many of the students. She continuously shared her love for Jesus through both her words and her actions.
In 2005, Lindy married the love of her life Patrick Grunow. Lindy and Patrick enjoyed riding both their Harley’s together. Lindy went home to heaven with a 10-0 race record against Patrick. Combined they created a family of 4 daughters and 10 grandchildren - daughter; Nicole Evers & grandchildren, Johnathan, Elysia, Madelyn, & Thomas; daughter; Heather Enger (Clyde) & Grandchildren; Trentyn & Braielynn; daughter: Julie Hekstra (David) & grandchildren; Skylar, Mila & Elsie; daughter: Whitney Schornagel (Max) & Grandson Lucas. Lindy found joy in her time with her children and grand-children and made a point to pray over them before she left her earthly home.
In addition to Lindy’s spouse Patrick Grunow & her children and grandchildren Lindy is survived by her mother, Judy (Michael) Hohman; her brother, Melvin (Sylvia) Burns; her sisters, Cindy (Jeffery) Arndt; Wendy Evans; Betty (Bill) Davis; Caroline (Ted) Lippert; and Kimberly (John) Grine; mother-in-law, Nancy Hazen; father-in-law, Craig (Judy) Grunow; sister-in-law, Lisa Reed; brother-in-law, Scott (Amy) Grunow.
VISITATION : Monday, March 27, 2023 from 12:30pm – 2:00pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412. CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICES : Monday, March 27, 2023 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : To the Lindy M.
