Mary Lysakowski was called home by our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Mary was born on April 5, 1938, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, to David and Sara (Brisson) Dumais and named Marie Reine` Dumais. Mary married Donald Stanley Lysakowski in Ontario on September 18, 1954, and moved to the United States where she became a citizen and her name was changed to Mary. They were married for 66 years after what they both refer to as “love at first sight’. The love of God, her husband and family was everything to Mary. It shaped her family into what they are today. She loved to watch her grandchildren, bake, play bingo, quilt, read and listen to books, her trips to Canada and casinos, and visit family.
Mary has left a hole in the hearts of her family which includes her children, David (Caron) Lysakowski of Garden City, Denny Lysakowski and his partner Todd Schneider, Debra (Chuck) Taber, and Diana (Ron Smith) Lyskowski; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Jackie Morin of Canada; sister-in-law, Jeannine Dumais; her extended family members. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2020; daughter, Denise Lysakowski; brothers, Jim Dumais and Ivon Dumais; and sisters, Simone Porter and Jean Gagnon.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Lansing. For a more lasting memorial contributions may be made to Careline Hospice or Fountain View Retirement Village in Grant. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Homes – Fremont Chapel.
