Wendy Strong Obituary

Wendy Sue Strong, age 67, of Fremont passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019, at home with her family by her side. Wendy was born on November 10, 1951, in Fremont to Orlo W. and Edith M. (Mirkle) Fetterley and married Richard Allen Strong on November 13, 1970, in White Cloud. Wendy had worked at Gerber Life Insurance in Fremont for over 17 years. Wendy was a past president of the White Cloud Lions Club, enjoyed camping, casino gaming, and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Wendy was a member of the Fremont Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

Wendy is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; children, Terry Allen (Becky) Strong of Newaygo and Gary Alan Strong of Grand Ledge; grandchildren, DeAnna Strong, Shelby Strong, Shyann Strong, Alec Strong, and Landen Strong; sisters and brother, Dixie Duncan of Tennessee, Carla (Daniel) Shavalier of Tennessee, Sally Geeting of Holton, Peggy St. John of Newaygo, Kristi (Charles) Andrews of Florida, and Steve (Bonnie) Fetterley of White Cloud; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlo and Edith Fetterley; brothers, Fred Mirkle, Patrick Fetterley, and Robert W. Fetterley; and grandchildren, Tyler and Korey Strong.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 1 - 5 pm at the White Cloud Lion's Den. Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the Fremont Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Friends may share memories with the Strong family at www.crandellfh.com.
