Curt Crandell

Curt graduated from Fremont High School in 1983 and then continued his education at Grand Valley State University and Grand Rapids Junior College. Curt completed his education at Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1989 and earning his Funeral Directors License in 1990. Curt married Sandra Joy Keehl on May 21, 1988. Curt and Sandra have three children, daughters, Rachele (Eddie) Sherman and Jordan (Phil) Baah-Sackey, and son, Calvin (Kiley) Crandell and 3 grandchildren. Curt is a 4th generation funeral director in Newaygo County following in his great grandfather's, grandfather's, and father's footsteps to serve the communities of West Michigan. Curt received the Michigan Funeral Directors "25 Year License Award" in May 2015 at the annual Michigan Funeral Directors Convention.

Scott Crandell

Scott graduated from Fremont High School in 1981 and then from Alma College in 1985 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. Scott later attended Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science in Detroit, graduating in 1991 and earning his Funeral Directors License in 1992. Scott married Elizabeth Suzanne Bartlett in 1991 and currently lives in Fremont. Scott & Elizabeth have two children Olivia Marie and Zachary Anderson. They are members of the Fremont United Methodist Church where Scott plays and sings in the Praise Band. Scott is a member of the Fremont Rotary Club and the Hesperia-Arcana Lodge No. 346 F & A.M. Scott is a 4rd generation funeral director in Newaygo County following in his grandfather's, and father's footsteps to serve the communities of West Michigan. Scott received the Michigan Funeral Directors "25 Year License Award" in May 2016 at the annual Michigan Funeral Directors Convention.

Sandra graduated from Fremont High School in 1979 and graduated from Grand Valley State University. Sandra married Curt Crandell on May 21, 1988 and they have three children, daughters Rachele (Eddie) Sherman and Jordan (Phil) Baah-Sackey Crandell, and son, Calvin (Kylie) Crandell and 3 grandchildren. Sandra has been the office manager at the Crandell Funeral Home for the past 28 years and when not working, enjoys crocheting, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family. She is also a member of the Reeman Christian Reformed Church.

Richard Crandell

Richard Crandell passed away on February 9, 2018 but his biography is still listed below.Richard graduated from Fremont High School in 1957 and attended Albion College for two years before transferring to and graduating from Wayne State University in Detroit with his Funeral Directors License in 1961. He married Phyllis Joan Witte and they have three children Scott, Curt, and Julie. Richard is a third generation Funeral Director, following in his father's footsteps, Jack A. Crandell who passed away in 1995, and his grandfather's, Richard A. Crandell who passed away in 1927. Richard & Phyllis currently live in Fremont and are members of the Fremont United Methodist Church. Richard is currently retired from the family business operation. Richard received the Michigan Funeral Directors "50 Year License Award" in May 2011 at the annual Michigan Funeral Directors Convention.

Zachary is the son of Scott A. Crandell.  Zachary graduated from Fremont High School and also graduated from Muskegon Community College.  He has worked at the Crandell Funeral Home for the past 5 years and serves in various capacities at the funeral home.
